Alemán, Carlos (kär'lo-s äh-le-mähn'), 1965-, Cuban American artist, web designer and blogger. I was born in New York City and raised in South Florida. I’m married to Jean and have one son, Vincent and two Dogs, Ginger and Google.
I’ve always been a terrible student, so, by necessity, the words that probably best describe me are ‘self taught’. Aside from a few art classes in college, I am a self taught artist/painter.
I'm currently working on a series of paintings and drawings inspired by Manga/Anime style Japanese art and the work of William Blake, the 19th century painter and poet. The series entitled 'Springtime' features eastern and western, themes, symbols of love and the passing of time. I have time lapse video taped some of my paintings and drawings and featured them on Youtube. You can view the videos on my vlog. I truly hope that you enjoy my work. Please visit my gallery...
I am also a professional web designer working for a media technology company. I taught myself everything I know about computers including HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, information architecture and GUI design.
I’ve never liked religion, but years ago, I fell in love with the person of Jesus. I sensed that God was chasing me and eventually I felt a strong need to believe in Christ. It is still all a mystery to me how this happened. You can’t make anyone love anything they don’t want to love, but somehow my desire to believe became stronger than my doubt. Thus began my new life and my blessed and difficult road to maturity...
