Blessed

Day 3

Still happy with the eyes, although the nose and mouth seem to be on different planes. Having trouble trying to create the extreme dark to light transition without graininess. I'll try to make some time tonight.

The doctor told me that there is a 95 percent chance that the tumor in my thyroid is not malignant. However, they will need to remove it along with half of my thyroid. I don't think it's a big deal and I'm too happy and blessed to let it get me down.

Close up

Close up of granddaughter

First, I draw everything I see including 'flyaway' hairs and freckles. Later, I will begin to subtract. With a kneaded eraser, I can soften the features and lines that I didn't intend to make so dark.

The head is very important, since it is how people identify us. I would actually prefer to draw just the face, but the shoulders are necessary to support the head.

The Apostle, Paul, wrote that Christ was the head and the members of the church were the body. We are His voice and hands. Are we comforting and loving the lonely, poor and broken hearted? Do we love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us? Do we truly consider others better than ourselves?
