Art

Visit art gallery on facebook"In the summer of 2010 I spent eleven days in China, traveling from Shanghai to Beijing and several cities in between including Suzhou, Tai'an, Qufu and Ji'nan. I made some sketches and took over a thousand photographs of places such as the Grand Canal in Suzhou, the summit of Mount Tai, The Forbidden City, Great Wall as well as the technological marvel that was the World Expo in Shanghai.

I returned to my home in Sunrise, Florida, nourished by inspiration and entered a period of creativity that has not yet ended for me. The result has been mixed media drawings and paintings attempting to capture a surreal aspect of my new muse, China. This work represents my lifelong love of Asian art, modernity and the ancient, the Yin of the east as admired by western eyes."  —Carlos Alemán
